Welcome to Gîtes at Le Bois de l'Église, Poitou Charente.

Three of the gîtes at Le Bois de l'Église are contained within a tastefully renovated typical Charentais "longere" farmhouse which consists of an artisans cottage, a storeroom, a barn and stables within one long building. The fourth gîte is a separate dwelling with its own private garden.

Le Bois de l'Église is a tiny hamlet close to the village of Villiers le Roux in the commune of Villefagnan in south West France. It is near to the town of Ruffec with its supermarkets, biweekly market, shops, cafes and public amenities. The location is rural countryside retreat, perfect for cycling and walking.

The region has its own micro-climate and has some of the sunniest weather in France, second only to the French Riviera. The area is primarily agricultural, with abundant sunflowers in the summer, and the surrounding woods and copses provide for a large variety of animal and bird life.
